Darrell Lake is an award-winning actor, director, writer and producer. His work is influenced by his diverse background: growing up in Sierra Leone, Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, United Kingdom, Eritrea and the US. He created the Stage 13/Warner Bros. scripted short-form series, The Incredible Life of Darrell, which he also wrote, starred in, directed and executive produced.
His work has received numerous awards, including a Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival for the short film Emergency, where the film was recognized for its writing, directing, and his standout lead performance. His writing and directing work has screened at festivals including the Los Angeles Film Festival, NBCUniversal Short Film Festival, New York Television Festival, Pan African Film Festival, and American Black Film Festival, among others.
He has also appeared in TV shows such as 9-1-1, Hawaii Five 0 and NCIS LA to name a few.
Darrell’s focus is on telling stories that show the multifaceted dimensions of humanity, and draw on his world-spanning background to bring a fresh and unique perspective to how the human experience is shared on screen.
